The Uptown Columbia Business Association proudly announces its formation, uniting Columbia’s Uptown district from Elmwood Avenue to River Drive, stretching from the historic Elmwood Cemetery to Bull Street. To mark this exciting launch, the Association invites the community to its inaugural Uptown Holiday Hop on Saturday, December 7, from 4 pm to 8 pm.
This festive celebration will include an oyster roast and pig picking at Warmouth, kokedama wrapping at Gardener’s Outpost, wine tastings, in-store specials, and local artisan booths. The neighborhood will come alive with live performances, including the highly anticipated 3rd Annual Sitar Christmas at Curiosity Coffee Bar and a Charlie Brown Christmas jazz tribute at Gardener’s Outpost. The Uptown Holiday Hop represents the association’s commitment to celebrating community pride and supporting local businesses and talent.
The event will also serve as the kickoff for the association’s fundraising efforts to support future community events, including the Rock 4 Plants Festival in March. This unique, hands-on festival will feature local bands and artists alongside gardeners and educators, offering practical workshops to promote sustainable gardening practices just in time for spring.
Currently finalizing its 501(c)(3) status, the Uptown Columbia Association is dedicated to sustainable beautification, engaging community events, and fostering a thriving local culture in Uptown Columbia. With support from the Elmwood, Earlewood, and Cottontown Neighborhood Associations, along with other community partners, this new organization is committed to advocating for Uptown’s businesses and residents. Together, they are building partnerships with city, state, and local organizations to create a vibrant, inclusive community where residents and visitors can connect and thrive.
